Directions

There will be a bus taking us directly from the Lisbon airport to the hostel at Arrifana, on March 26th.

The bus is schedule to depart at 16h (Lisbon), please be on time.

Instructions

Please follow these instructions to get from the Lisbon airport to Arrifana.

Note that we recommend you travel with only cabin luggage to avoid delays with luggage pickup.

Communicate Your Arrival

Once you land in Lisbon do your best to get on the QHELP discord server and let the @organizers know you have landed. You should have no problems getting on the free WiFi at the airport. Still, you should have the organizers phone numbers with you (they were emailed to you already), in case you need to reach them directly. If you encounter any delays or issues feel free to reach out via discord, email, or mobile.

Get on the Bus

After you clear customs, you’ll likely see the event organizers and members of the Portuguese delegation waiting for you. If you don’t see any of them, and you see the clock is getting close to 16h, please make your way out of the airport.

The bus will be parked, next to the subway station, on the area marked in red on the image below. For reference, the entrance to the terminal for departures is marked in blue, and the entrance to the terminal for arrivals is marked in green. As you can see you won’t need to travel far to get on the bus.

bus location

The bus location was kindly provided by the hostel and taken from google maps.

Plan B

In case you can’t make it to the bus, you should try and make your way to the bus terminal at Sete Rios (“Terminal Rodoviário, Sete Rios, Lisboa”). The last bus to Aljezur departs from there at 17h30m. Once you reach Aljezur one of the organizers can pick you up and take you to the hostel from there.

Plan C

In case you can’t make it to the bus at airport, nor the one at Sete Rios, your best bet is to spend a night in Lisbon, and get on a bus to Aljezur the next morning.

If this happens, please contact the organizers immediately, they should be able to get you a discounted rate at a hostel in Lisbon, from the same chain/company as the one in Aljezur.

The first bus to Aljezur departs from Sete Rios at 07h30m. Once you get to Aljezur an organizer will pick you up and take you to the hostel.

Plan D

You might feel like you can’t wait to get on to the hostel so you can enjoy QHELP. You might be tempted to swim from Lisbon to Aljezur. We strongly advice against this, and are not responsible for any injuries you might incur in the process. So if you feel like taking a swim, please go back to Plan C, follow the instructions, and once your bus gets to Aljezur the organizers will pick you up, and take you to a beach where you may swim in safety.

Asking for Help

Should you have any questions please tag the @organizers on the QHELP discord server. If you have any trouble with discord, feel free to reach out directly via email or phone.
